Today’s Bible verse:
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Pray with us:
Dear Lord, we thank you for a new day. In a world of turmoil and unrest, we pray for justice and peace for all of your children. Help us to facilitate healing rather the divisiveness. Instead of upheaval and anger let us disagree, agreeably for we
are all part of the same body as brothers and sisters in Christ. You teach us that all of the world's children are our neighbors and we are to “love our neighbor as ourselves.” Help us to live by the prayer of St. Francis printed below.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
